Currywurst mit Pommes (Currywurst with Fries)

Preheat oven and cook French fries according to package instructions until golden and crispy (typically 15-20 minutes). Alternatively, deep-fry them.

While fries are cooking, heat a grill pan or a frying pan with a little oil over medium-high heat. Cook the bratwurst sausages for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until nicely browned and cooked through.

Prepare the curry sauce: Sauté finely chopped onion in a small saucepan with a tiny bit of oil until translucent. Add ketchup, curry powder, sugar, and vinegar. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer for 5 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.

Once sausages are cooked, slice them into thick rounds (approx. 2 cm). Serve the sliced sausages and fries on plates. Pour a generous amount of the warm curry sauce over the sausages. Sprinkle with extra curry powder for garnish. Serve immediately.
